What we offer

What we offer

We hope everyone is having a great summer so far! The weather has been kind to us and with COVID protocols being lifted we are able to begin to get back to normal.

We at Life Directions have been very busy helping more and more members of the community and steadily growing the organization.

We're very grateful for all of the referrals that have came to us through our partnerships.

Today's blog is going to break-down Life Directions services and who we serve in the Grey-Bruce areas. Maybe you are someone or know someone who could benefit from our free services.

Life Directions Employment Supports was created in 2015 by South East Grey Support Services to improve the economic, psychosocial and social well-being of persons living with disabilities. The individuals we serve in the community can self-refer or can be referred through community partners, past participants and word-of-mouth.

Some self-identified disabilities may include:

  • Visual impairments
  • Hearing impairments
  • Communication disabilities
  • Dexterity impairments
  • Mobility impairments
  • Cognitive impairments
  • Psychological disabilities

We offer a range of programs for the people we serve and each with our initial meeting we are able to decipher the right path to take with each individual that works with us. The programs are designed with simplicity in mind and these include:

  • Job Coaching
  • Essential literacy skills
  • Workshops in the following; WHMIS, health and safety, workplace violence harassment, and more.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Mental health first aid certification
  • Job development
  • Employment counseling

Our partners in the community are a huge help in streamlining our process in getting the right help for people where it's needed. Some of our partners include; South East Grey Community Health Centre, Canadian Mental Health Association, Canadian Association for Supported Employment, Ontario Disability Employment Network, MentorAbility Canada, Kids and Us Daycare, Rossiter Boats and Foodland Markdale to name a few.

If you have any questions at all or believe you are someone or know of someone that could use our assistance please contact us.
