At every step, Life Directions provides individualized, one-on-one support that accommodates the unique needs of the jobseeker.
Long-term engagement with Life Directions helps the jobseekers to achieve their career goals, even after employment is secured.
How does Life Directions engage with jobseekers?
Job Seeker
The jobseeker* drops-in to
Life Directions (LD) or makes
a scheduled appointment.
*LD works with jobseekers 15 years and older living with a self-disclosed or diagnosed disability.
Action Plan
LD works with the jobseeker to
develop a Return to Work Action Plan.
Pre-Employment Career Development
LD provides the jobseeker with one-on-one pre-employment
career development. This includes:
• needs and resource
identification
• goal setting
• resume development
• interview preparation
• provision of training
Introductions
LD works together with the jobseeker to make introductions to potential employers and set-up interviews.
Employment
The jobseeker secures employment or a job placement. This may be a
stepping-stone to the jobseeker’s longer term career goals.
Training
LD works with the employer to develop and implement a
training plan for the new hire.
Follow Up
LD maintains ongoing contact with the jobseeker and employer to ensure
career success and employee retention.

The Career Resource Centre (CRC) at Life Directions is available to anyone in the community – free of charge!
Drop-in for all of your job search and career development needs.
Available resources include:
- computers
- internet access
- printer
- scan
- fax
- local job boards
- community resources
- job coaches
- network with other jobseekers!
Hours: Monday – Friday
9am – 12pm
